Report: Arab-Israeli, her 3 daughters killed in car crash in Jenin

Taxi collides with vehicle containing five members of Nazareth family who attended Ramadan break fast dinner; Officer Zubeidi: It was difficult to pull bodies out

Five people were killed Sunday evening when a taxi and a private vehicle collided in the West Bank city of Jenin.

Palestinian sources told Ynet that among the victims of the crash were an Arab-Israeli woman and her three daughters from the Nazareth area. The fifth victim was the mother's brother, a resident of the Palestinian Authority.

The Israeli family arrived at the village of Kud, near Jenin, to attend a Ramadan break fast meal at the home of relatives. The accident itself took place in Jenin, as the mother's brother drove the family to an Israeli checkpoint following the dinner.

The taxi driver who crashed into the family's vehicle was evacuated to a hospital in Nablus in moderate to serious condition.

Palestinian police have launched an investigation into the accident.

The first to arrive at the scene was police officer Zakaria Zubeidi, the former commander of the Al-Quds Brigades, Fatah's armed wing.

"The vehicle was crushed, so it was difficult to pull the bodies out," he told Ynet.
