Mitchell to meet Netanyahu yet again after Abbas meeting
US envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu one again Friday afternoon, before the beginning of the holiday of Rosh Hashana. The meeting will follow a meeting between Mitchell and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, where the two will discuss Israel's proposals.
The narrow security political forum will convene in between the meetings, to discuss compromises Israel is willing to make, as well as the lines it is not willing to cross, towards the renewal of peace talks with the Palestinians. Both parties are torn over the duration of the Israeli freeze of settlement construction in the West Bank. (Roni Sofer)
