Palestinians repeat demand for settlement freeze

Israel must halt settlement building for peace talks to resume, a Palestinian official said on Saturday, responding to US remarks urging Palestinians to drop such a precondition for negotiations.

Nabil Abu Rdainah, spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said: "A settlement freeze and acknowledging the terms of reference is the only way towards peace negotiations." (Reuters)
