Ahmadinejad: Iran doesn't need nukes, they haven't helped Israel

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said his country doe not near nuclear weapons and is capable of defending itself without them.

 

In an interview to Russian newspaper VIP, Ahmadinejad said there is no longer any use for nuclear weapons. "Did nuclear weapons stop the collapse of the USSR? Did nuclear weapons help the United States in Iraq or Afghanistan?" Regarding Israel, the president said that even with nuclear weapons, the Jewish state was unable to win the Second Lebanon War or succeed in Operation Cast Lead in Gaza. (Dudi Cohen)
