Suspected serial sex offender arrested in Tel Aviv

Police say 28-year-old man admitted to sexually assaulting dozens of women in city. 'I can't control myself when I see a woman,' he tells investigators

Police arrested a man who is believed to be behind a series of sexual assaults on women in central Tel Aviv.

The 28-year-old man, a resident of the city, was arrested Sunday evening on suspicion of raping a woman and sexually assaulting dozens of others.

He was apprehended after allegedly committing yet another sexual offense. "I see a woman and get confused," the suspect told officers who found him sitting in his car with his pants pulled down.

The investigation was launched following two complaints that were filed over the weekend. A 40-year-old woman said the suspect had assaulted her while she was walking near Dizengoff Street. Another woman who arrived at a police station a few hours later said the suspect had raped her in a dark alley in central Tel Aviv. A total of six complaints have been filed in the case.

Police said the suspect has already admitted to committing dozens of sexual offenses over the past couple of months.

"I can't control myself when I see a woman," the man told investigators.

Superintendent Rona Morad-Finglai, who headed the investigation, said, "We are talking about a very dangerous man. He admitted to attacking dozens of women, but we estimate there were many other victims."
