A stun grenade was found by security personnel in a bag belonging to a man who arrived at the Jerusalem Magistrates' Court Wednesday.
Police alerted to the scene arrested the man, and in a preliminary interrogation he said his son had found the grenade two days ago. He added that he had come to the court to attend a hearing on a civil suit he filed against a contractor.
Recent months have seen a rise in violent acts against judges. In two major incidents, a pair of shoes were thrown at Supreme Court President Dorit Beinish, and Judge Moshe Gilad's car was set on fire in Akko.
In yet another incident that occurred a few weeks ago, Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court Judge Anna Schneider’s vehicle was vandalized for the third time. The slogan “you and Beinish = murder” was sprayed in Hebrew on the car’s bumper.
A fax that was recently sent to the director of Israel's courts read, "Another judge should be murdered. We'll kill a judge with a LAW missile."
