West Bank: Soldiers shoot Palestinian trying to escape arrest

Wanted man sustains light to moderate wounds; another Palestinian injured after jumping off roof

A Palestinian was lightly to moderately injured overnight Thursday when an IDF force opened fire on him after he escaped arrest in the village of Faraa, located near the West Bank city of Nablus.

According to the army, the Palestinian tried fleeing the scene, and in response, the soldiers fired at him.

After he was shot, he continued his attempt at fleeing, but was caught. He was transferred to a hospital for medical attention.

Another Palestinian was injured when he jumped off a roof while trying to escape arrest. He broke his leg and is listed in light condition.

A total of eight wanted Palestinians were detained overnight by IDF forces, who conduct nightly raids in the West Bank.

In another incident early Thursday, shots were fired at an Israeli vehicle travelling east of Qalqilya. There were no reports of injury. IDF forces scoured the area, but no arrests were made.
