Man stabbed in Netanya by 'Arab who shouted Allahu Akbar'

Victim says Arab shouted in Arabic, then pulled out a knife and stabbed him. Three Palestinian suspects arrested

A 39-year-old man told police Wednesday morning that he was stabbed by an Arab in Netanya's Kiryat Hasharon neighborhood. Three Palestinian suspects were arrested.

The man, who sustained light injuries, said the assailant shouted 'Allahu Akbar (G-d is great)' a number of times.

A police official told Ynet, "We suspect that this was a stabbing attack and a manhunt for the perpetrator has been launched."

The injured man, who arrived at Laniado Hospital on his own, said the Arab shouted in Arabic, then pulled out a knife and stabbed him.

Large police forces were alerted to the scene and searched the assailant with the help of a chopper.

Neighborhood residents were instructed to remain indoors.

Police heightened their alert level in the aftermath of Monday's lethal raid on the Gaza aid flotilla.

Commissioner Dudi Cohen said, "The most important thing is to refrain from any inflammatory comments that may escalate the situation."
