Abbas appeals to US over Silwan construction plan
Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said Tuesday that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has asked the United States to make efforts in order to cancel the King's Garden project in east Jerusalem.
According to Erekat, the US has voiced concerns over the building permits granted to the project in the Jerusalem district committee. As part of the project, 22 Palestinian homes will be demolished in a favor of an archeological park. (AFP)
