IDF officer charged with seducing underage girls

Eyal Nahum indicted for contacting some 4,000 girls aged 10-16, offering to teach them about sex. Police say officer had sexual relations with four of his victims

Israel Defense Forces officer Eyal Nahum, 25, allegedly sent no less than 4,000 messages to underage girls on dating websites. He presented himself as a 16-year-old boy and met with several of the girls and even had sexual relations with some of them.

On Sunday, Nahum was charged with a long line of sex offenses, including consensual underage sex and sodomy, blackmail, sexual harassment, and attempted sexual harassment.

According to the indictment, which was filed with the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Sunday, Nahum has been trying to seduce young girls for years. He sent girls aged 10-16 a message saying, "I want to tell you that I am looking for more students, after teaching quite a few about sex and boys. If you have the courage and are curious about it, and you have questions, you are welcome to contact me! Of course, this will remain between you and me."

He presented himself as a 15 or 16-year-old boy, and posted pictures of another teen on his page on the dating website.

He met with several of the girls, and in once case, he gave a 21-year-old man guidance on how to have sex. Nahum arrived at the man's home in Shoham with a 15-year-old girl. He had consensual sex with her and performed sodomy on her. Then he asked the girl to have sex with the 21-year-old.

In another instance, he met a girl who had still not turned 14. He asked her to take her shirt off and commit an indecent act on herself while he watched online. Shortly later the two met in a mall in Rishon Lezion, where they had sex in the bathroom. The two then met on several different occasions, and also had sexual relations. Some of the acts were carried out in the presence of the girl's friend.

Threatened to publish picture of girl

The indictment outlines how Nahum allegedly blackmailed a 13-year-old girl who he had cybersex with. The girl sent him a picture of herself in her bra, and when she later tried to cut ties with him, the suspect threatened to publish the picture if she refused to connect her internet camera and do as he said.

Nahum allegedly wrote to the girl that he knows her parents and siblings names and knows where she lives, and warned her to "watch out for surprises."

But it was Nahum who was ultimately surprised, as the person he was chatting with was actually undercover Corporal Dor Mor, who took on the persona of a 13-year-old girl by the name of "Ester Farkash". Nahum offered to meet with "Ester" in Holon to "teach you how to kiss properly."

The Tel Aviv District Prosecution requested Nahum's remain in custody until the end of the legal proceedings against him.

Nahum's arrest was cleared for publication some 10 days ago, and police said that over the past five years, he has contacted thousands of girls over the internet.

Following his arrest, 10 girls filed complaints with the police saying they were sexually harassed by the officer. Police managed to reach four girls between the ages 14 and 16, who Nahum allegedly has consensual sex with.

Nahum's parents denied the allegations ascribed to their son. "This is a character assassination, they are just piling on baseless claims," his father Moti told Ynet.

"He is a charming kid who has received an excellent education," the father added.

Nahum's mother, Sylvia said, "He doesn't have the time to do everything they say he did. This is a terrible injustice and character assassination. If anything took place, they were small things, pure nonsense. Far from the picture the police are painting."
