US announces new sanctions against N. Korea

The United States announced new sanctions against North Korea on Wednesday including on the purchase and sale of arms and an asset freeze on individuals.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton outlined the measures following high-level talks in South Korea. She said the sanctions were a response to the policies in Pyongyang and were not directed at the people of North Korea. (Reuters)
