Israel to file complaint with UN over Ashkelon rocket

The Foreign Ministry has ordered Israel's ambassadors to file an urgent complaint with the United Nations Security Council president and the Human Rights Council in Geneva following the firing of a Grad missile from Gaza into Ashkelon on Friday morning and the firing of two mortar shells on the western Negev.

"Israel will stress in its complaint that the firing of a Grad missile on a large city like Ashkelon – with the clear goal of murdering men, women and children as they prepare for Shabbat – is a blatant violation of international law and points to the murderous, barbaric and violent nature of those behind it," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Yossi Levy.
