UN names heads of international flotilla probe

UN Secretary-General Ban-Ki-moon has announced the establishment of a team to probe the incidents that occurred on board a Gaza-bound flotilla ship raided by the IDF in May.

The team will be headed by the former prime minister of New Zealand, Geoffrey Palmer, and his deputy will be the outgoing president of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe. There will also be an Israeli team member, as well as one from Turkey. The probe will begin on August 10, and is scheduled to hand in its first conclusions in September.
