Student union calls for greater public share of expected gas profits
The National Student Union announced it would join the struggle to increase the public share of the profits expected from the natural gas recently discovered off Israel's coast.
"With this money we could rehabilitate higher education in Israel as well as the education, welfare and health system," Student Union Chairman Boaz Toporovsky said. "This is a historic opportunity relating to hundreds of millions of dollars, and we must do everything to ensure that natural resources are used for the benefit of the entire state."
