Polygraph rules PR firm owners did not write Galant document

Ynet learns owners of Arad Communication undergo lie detector test. Results show they apparently did not author Galant document, though police emphasize this does not absolve firm of responsibility as other employees may be behind it

Owners of the public relations agency Arad Communication Eyal Arad and Lior Chorev underwent polygraph tests as part of their police investigations in the Galant document affair, Ynet learned on Monday.

The test results lessen the likelihood that Arad and Chorev may be tied in some way to writing the Galant document, apparently meant to promote the appointment of Maj. Gen. Yoav Galant to the post of chief of staff by sullying the reputation of currently serving Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi.

However, it still remains unclear whether the test completely absolves the firm from responsibility for writing the document. The police are still investigating whether someone else in the office authored the document.

Arad responded, "I refuse to confirm or deny any investigation proceedings."

Police officials said the investigation is expected to continue for a long time to come.

The IDF General Staff forum convened its weekly meeting on Monday on the backdrop of the Galant affair. IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Avi Benayahu, who is also tied to the investigation, sent a letter to thousands denying any connection to the events.

A senior IDF officer told Ynet, "Just yesterday, the military's stance was that it does not respond to investigations or anything said in them. Now some kind of festival of letters and statements has been started by people that want to present themselves in a positive light."
