PLO Executive Committee to discuss Clinton's invitation
The Palestinian Authority welcomed US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's and the Mideast Quartet's invitation to resume direct peace talks with Israel, but have yet to render its official answer.
The Palestinians said the PLO's Executive Committee will meet later Friday in the West Bank city of Ramallah to discuss the invitation. Official Palestinian sources said the Committee is likely to green-light the move, despite foreseeable internal objections. (Ali Waked)
