Report: Egypt promotes int'l committee to 'maintain' peace process
Egypt is making efforts to set up an international committee to "maintain the peace process," a high-level Egyptian source said to London-based newspaper Al-Hayat.
According to the report, Egypt is trying to "preserve Palestinian rights" by emphasizing international resolutions which form the basis of authority of the process. The same Egyptian source said contacts were being made in coordination with Jordan. "We must find a way out and a suitable alternative to the peace process, especially in the light of the extreme rightwing government in Israel," the source said. (Roee Nahmias)
