Russian arms dealing suspect arrives at NYC jail
Russian arms trafficking suspect Viktor Bout was flown from Bangkok to New York in a chartered US plane, extradited in manacles despite a final outraged push by Russian diplomats to persuade Thailand to release him, the US attorney's office said.
Bout's extradition on Tuesday followed a bruising diplomatic tug-of-war between the US and Russia that shows no sign of letting up and could jeopardize cooperation on arms control, nuclear weapons curbs and the war in Afghanistan. (AP)
