Iran's state radio says a man attempting to hijack a plane bound for Syria was arrested on board.
The radio says security guards on the Tehran-Damascus flight prevented the attempt and arrested the suspect. No one was hurt in the incident.
The report says an unspecified number of Iranian lawmakers were on the plane, en route to a parliamentary conference in Damascus.
Saturday's report did not identify the would-be hijacker. The semi-official Fars news agency said the man, who was armed, had confessed to hiding a bomb on board, but that a search revealed no explosives.
