UN condemns intimidation of staff in Ivory Coast

The top UN envoy in Ivory Coast on Monday condemned intimidation tactics against UN personnel, saying armed men were threatening staff after the United Nations ignored Laurent Gbagbo's demand that thousands of peacekeepers leave the country.

Meanwhile, the UN Security Council called on all parties to recognize opposition leader Alassane Ouattara as Ivory Coast's president. (AP)
