J'lem District Court rejects petition to halt construction on Shepherd Hotel plot
The Jerusalem District Court rejected an appeal filed by the Husseini family, who requested that the court issue an injunction to forbid the owners of the Shepherd Hotel plot in Sheikh Jarrah to carry out any activity in the land adjacently to their plot.
Justice Yigal Mersel ruled that the appeal was filed with extreme delay, even though the petitioners were aware of the plan to demolish the hotel for the past month. He also noted that the Magistrate's Court already discussed the issue and therefore there was no room for the district court to intervene. (Aviad Glickman)
