EU parliament gathers for international Holocaust remembrance day
The Yad Vashem Chairman and Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv Yisrael Meir Lau participated in the European Union ceremony for the international Holocaust Remembrance Day. He said: "God works in mysterious ways, but I can't help but ponder what would have happened if Israel was established a decade earlier."
He added: "I'm amazed by the courageous Entebbe operation where four air force planes carrying IDF's finest fighters were able to free the kidnapped, whereas the distance between Auschwitz and the train tracks leading to the camp are only half way to Uganda." (Aviel Magnezi)
