PM welcomes Egyptian army's treaty announcement

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the Egyptian military's announcement that it would continue to honor its peace treaty with Israel despite President Hosni Mubarak's resignation.

"The longstanding peace treaty between Israel and Egypt has greatly contributed to both countries and is the cornerstone for peace and stability in the entire Middle East," Netanyahu said in a statement. (Attila Somfalvi)
