Jerusalem hotel closed over plans to hold Fatah conference

The Jerusalem police department instructed that the Capitol hotel on Salah Eddin Street be closed after it was revealed that the hotel was set to be the venue for a Fatah conference dealing with the east Jerusalem's Silwan neighborhood protests.

Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch signed the closure order due to the legal offence – breaking the law forbidding Palestinian Authority activities in Jerusalem. (Yair Altman and Elior Levy)
