J'lem prosecution closes bribery case against Rabbi Shear Yashuv Cohen

The Jerusalem Prosecutor's Office has told Rabbi Shear Yashuv Cohen that it has decided to close the case that was opened against him in connection with a bribery scheme, following the rabbi's annoucement that he will no longer serve in public positions.

A few months ago it the prosecution found out that Cohen continues to serve as the chief rabbi of Haifa, even though he previously made the promise to resign from the post and avoid public service. He was indicted for his involvement in the "Rabbi Affair," in which false rabbi titles were given to security forces personnel. (Aviad Glickman)
