Muslim-Christian clashes kill 2 in west Cairo

Egypt's official news agency says Christians and Muslims have clashed in western Cairo after reports of a mixed romance. A medical official says two people were killed.

The clashes mark an escalation in tension between Egypt's Muslims and the country's Coptic Christian minority. Ultraconservative Muslims have held regular protests in recent days accusing the church of abducting the wife of a Coptic priest who they believe converted to Islam. (AP)
