IDF chief: Public discourse on Gilad Shalit wrong
Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Benny Gantz addressed the issue of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit at the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, saying that "the State of Israel is committed to make every effort to bring him home".
On the backdrop of former IDF Chief Gabi Ashkenazi's statement that Israel has no military option to release Shalit, Gantz added that "any public discourse on the way Gilad Shalit should be returned is wrong and must remain behind closed doors." (Yair Altman)
