Hamas: We'll nominate Heniyeh to head unity government

A senior Hamas official told London-based al-Hayat newspaper that his organization will push for Ismail Haniyeh's appointment as head of the Palestinian unity government.

Hamas objects to the candidacy of Salam Fayyad, the current prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority. Palestinian factions are scheduled to meet on Tuesday to discuss the new government. (Elior Levy, Ynet's Palestinian affairs correspondent)
