Israel wants to put bus hit by missile in front of UN HQ

None

The Defense Ministry's information division and the National Information Directory intend to place the remnants of a bus, which was hit by an antitank missile in the Negev earlier this year, in front of the UN headquarters in New York. A boy was killed in the missile attack. The measure is to be taken ahead of the UN vote on the recognition of a Palestinian state, scheduled for next week.

Government officials are discussing the measure with the authorities in the US. "The image of the bus that was hit while a boy was inside explains Israel's determination to fight terrorism," a source close to the issue said. (Attila Somfalvi)
