Global Nestlé will supply the chain with the machinery and coffee of the Nescafé Milano brand. Bonjour, a Nestlé Osem subsidiary, will provide the pastries.
Burger Ranch, which has 110 restaurants across Israel, plans to open cafés in 30 locations within half a year at the cost of NIS 500,000 ($130,000) each.
The first café has already been inaugurated at Herzliya's Seven Star Mall, and another is set to open in the Burger Ranch restaurant at Ben-Gurion Airport, which recently replaced McDonald's.
The Ranch Café stands will offer coffee and pastries for attractive prices, with a cheaper tariff for those ordering a Burger Ranch meal.
For example, a Ranch Café pastry will cost you NIS 3.90 (about $1.05), a cup of coffee and a mini pastry – NIS 10 ($2.65), and espresso – NIS 7.90 ($2.10), a double espresso or cappuccino – NIS 8.90 ($2.35), and a large cappuccino – NIS 10.90 ($2.85).
Nestlé has been active in the world's institutional market since 2010, and has been supplying coffee and equipment to hotels and fast food chains. This is the first time the company enters the café and restaurant industry in Israel, and it plans to expand its activity.
According to a senior industry official, Nestlé's entry will create an "earthquake" in the market of coffee equipment for restaurants, in which many suppliers are active.
