Fayyad, Haniyeh praise Palestinian agreement
Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad congratulated Fatah and Hamas for agreeing to form a unified government for the West Bank and Gaza Strip headed by President Mahmoud Abbas.
Fayyad said he hopes the agreement would lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital. Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh also praised the deal saying his government in Gaza is ready to implement it. (Elior Levy)
