A mortar shell was evidently fired towards an IDF unit during routine activity near the Gaza border fence. The force responded by firing towards open areas. No soldiers were reported injured. Palestinian sources in Gaza said that an explosion sounded in the region. (Yoav Zitun and Elior Levy)
