France: Toulouse gunman planned to kill another soldier

French Interior Minister Claude Gueant told French media that Mohamed Merah, who has confessed to killing seven people over the past few weeks, including three paratroopers, set out to kill another soldier on Monday. Failing to find a target, Mareh opened fire at a Jewish school instead.

Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said earlier in the day that Merah had also planned to carry out another shooting on Wednesday, before being found by the police. (AFP)
