Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after meeting with the French foreign minister: "First we need the fire to cease; then we can discuss anything else. Half of Israel is under fire; this can't go on."
State officials added that a ceasefire agreement have yet to be reached. One official noted: "If there's a way to complete the goals of the operation without a ground invasion – that would be best. If not, we're prepared for ground offensive." (Attila Somfalvi)
