The Israeli airline currently offers 13 weekly flights to London – 11 to Heathrow Airport and two to Luton. As of March, it plans to add four flights to Luton. In the summer, the company will offer a total of 22 weekly flights to London, half of them landing in Luton.

Starting in April, some of the flights to Luton will be operated on Boeing 767 planes with an upgraded economy class, in addition to the regular economy and business classes.

The airfare to Luton is $50 cheaper than the airfare to Heathrow, mostly because taxes imposed on airlines in Heathrow are significantly higher.

According to David Maimon, El Al's vice president of commercial and industry affairs,

"As part of the expansion of the cooperation between El Al and the Luton Airport authorities, there will be a fast security check counter for hand luggage, as well as a fast passport control checkpoint.

"In addition, business class passengers and premium Frequent Flyer Club members will enjoy the services of a new and spacious lounge."
