Al Jazeera: UN preparing for post-Assad Syria
Th Al-Jazeera network reported that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appointed his deputy Jan Eliasson to oversee a rehabilitation program to be instituted in Syria after the fall of President Bashar Assad.
According to the report, UN officials who served in Syria left much equipment in warehouses of Beirut, Lebanon and it will be put to use to achieve the new objectives. Regardless of the plans, Al-Jazeera reported, none of the plan will be put into motion without the full support of the UN Security Council, which is not assured. (Ynet)
