Study: Exposure to rockets from Gaza increasing youth violence

New research suggests prolonged exposure to rocket fire from Gaza increases rates of violence among Israeli teens. The study was conducted by Professor Golan Shahar from Ben-Gurion University and Professor Christopher Hnritz' of the University of Georgia.

The study followed 362 adolescents from the western Negev from 2008 to 2011, and measured the amount of missile exposure, symptoms of depression, anxiety and violent behavior, yearly. The most striking finding in the study was that prolonged exposure to rocket fire predicted an increase in cases of violence among adolescents. (Omri Efraim)
