Jordan says asked US for drones to fight Syria, al-Qaeda threat

Published: 08.16.13, 09:31 / Israel News

A senior source in Jordan has revealed that Jordan requested a line of advanced weapons from the US, chief among which were drones. The source insinuated that the goal of the acquired weapons is to face any military or security threat posed by the Syrian government, al-Qaeda, or any other terror group.

US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, visited Jordan Wednesday and confirmed that the government of Jordan has officially asked the US for drones to help protect itself from any violent developments in the Syrian border. (Roi Kais)
