US Senate likely to pass 'more tailored' Syria act, senator says

A resolution authorizing the use of military force in Syria will likely pass the US Senate but not without specific changes, the head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said on Tuesday, ahead of a hearing to consider US plans. "I believe that we will get there," the committee's chairman, Democratic Senator Robert Menendez, said when asked if the Senate had the 60 votes needed to pass the resolution.

But, he added, "I think our resolution that we will ultimately see will be far more tailored than what the administration sent us." (Reuters)
