Israeli among Nobel chemistry prize winners

Scientists Martin Karplus, Michael Levitt and Arieh Warshel have won this year's Nobel Prize in chemistry.

 

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on Wednesday cited the three researchers "for the development of the multiscale models for complex chemical systems." Warshel, a professor of chemistry and biochemistry at University of Southern California, was born in Kibbutz Sde Nahum, Israel, and received his BSc degree in Chemistry from the Technion, Haifa.
