7 month prison term for man who hunted porcupine

None

A northern resident was sentenced to seven months in prison and a fine in the tens of thousands of shekels for hunting porcupine in the Golan Heights. Four year ago, the man was stopped with a dead porcupine in his car, which he had trapped in spite of the fact that the porcupine is designated a protected animal, and he did not have a hunting license.

Nazareth District Court rejected his appeal and even added another five months of probation to the punishment he was given by Katzrin Magistrate's Court. (Maor Buchnik)
