Lieberman: Officials discussed returning Golan before Syrian war
Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman MK Avigdor Lieberman attended a conference in Katzrin in support of Dimi Afartzav for local council. Lieberman said at the conference that up to one month before civil war in Syria, there were ranking political and security officials working to open negotiations with Assad about giving back the Golan Heights.
"They were prisoners to a misconception saying that Assad should be cut off from the axis of evil at the price of giving up the Golan Heights through the Kinneret. Luckly this conception collapsed, before it collapsed on our heads," Lieberman said. (Moran Azulay)
