Fitch to review US 'AAA' credit rating for downgrade

Rating agency Fitch said on Tuesday it was considering lowering the debt rating of the United States, currently the best in AAA.

Fitch has placed the long-term debt of the United States as "negative watch", explaining that "US authorities have not raised the debt ceiling in time, before the Treasury exhausts its extraordinary measures". (AFP)
