Rabbi David Yosef, son of the late Rabbi Ovadia Yosef and a member of Council of Torah Sages of the Shas party, said the candidate for mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, "was like a son at father's house. He is one of us. I heard father say several times that he regretted not having Moshe Leon brought to him to give him a letter of support."
Last week, leaders of the haredi-Lithuanian community, headed by Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinman, announced their support of Leon’s candidacy. (Kobi Nachshoni)
