High Court nullifies Nazareth election result gag order

The High Court has ruled against a Nazareth District Court gag order blocking the publication of the results in Nazareth's local election. The gag order was put in place because legal procedures are still pending regarding the disputed election results, according to which only 22 votes stand between the two contenders – incumbent Ramez Jarisi and supposed frontrunner Ali Salim who petitioned the High Court.

In the upcoming hour the Interior Ministry will decide who will be Nazareth's next mayor. (Hassan Shaalan)
