American Internet giant AOL is purchasing the format of Israeli docu-reality series "Mehubarim"
("Connected").
The American version of "Connected" will join the AOL On online video network.
As part of the deal, the Koda Communications company will be in charge of producing the show for AOL in the United States, and it will be aired under its original name.

AOL recently began producing its own series, whose stars include Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwyneth Paltrow and Hank Azaria. This will be the first time, however, that AOL buys an international format, and the first time it produces a full-length television series.
Most of the development of AOL's video infrastructure, which the series will be broadcast on, is being done at the company's development center in Tel Aviv.
"Connected" in its American version will follow five people living in New York, who will document their lives using a video camera for six months. The series will include 20 episodes of 22 to 30 minutes each.
The online series will be available for free viewing also on smartphones, tablets and smart TVs.
The "Mehubarim" format is one of the most successful format of Israel' HOT cable communications company, and has been sold to 22 countries so far.
