Hamas: Abbas is trying to drag us backwards
A Hamas spokesperson in Gaza criticized Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday, saying, "I don't think that anybody besides Abu Mazen is talking about the Egyptian proposal anymore. Even Egypt itself stopped talking about the agreement as it was presented."
He added that, "The Egyptian proposal takes us back to one-and-a-half months ago. We've come a long way (including) two weeks of marathon negotiations. We presented Egypt with a document detailing the Palestinian demands, a document that reflects the Palestinian consensus. That's what's on the table. We're shocked that Abu Mazen is trying to drag us backwards."
