Border guard officer who attacked Abu Khdeir's cousin charged with assault
The Police Internal Investigation Department filed an indictment on Wednesday to the Jerusalem Magistrates Court against a Border guard officer who was documented attacking a 15-year-old boy during an arrest in the Shu'afat neighborhood in Jerusalem.
The officer is charged with assault causing real injury to the boy, who is also the cousin of slain teen Mohammed Abu Khdeir, who was murdered a week before the incident by three Jewish youth, residents of Jerusalem.
Abu Khdeir's murder sparked riots in the eastern part of the city during which his cousin was arrested.
