Finance Minister Yair Lapid addressed the budget Thursday, saying "when I took office I found the economy was on the brinks of collapse. We want to address the housing crisis and I will not lend my hand to attempts to sweep it under the rug. I will not succumb to political pressure and manipulations."
Regarding Lapid's flagship bill - 0% VAT on homes for young couples, the finance minister said "I will not allow the housing crisis to be dealt with politically, it is a professional debate."
