Herzog: Jewish Nationhood Bill is irresponsible
Head of the Opposition Yitzhak Herzog (Labor) said in response to the government's approval of the Nationality bill that dealing with the issue "is like Netanyahu's government meeting regarding the Temple Mount. Raising the issue during the (current) security situation and in a sensitive country is irresponsible, unnecessary, and likely to increase the flames in the region."
"If the Declaration of Independence was good enough for us when we were a minority of 600,000 people, why is it not enough for Netanyahu today?" said Herzog.
Herzog added that "Only a prime minister that is unsure of him self, without a vision and without a plan, needs these superficial laws that do not improve the life of citizens."
